Local Mazda Dealerships to Raise up to $40,000 for Metro Detroit High Schools Through Test Drive Events

This month, three local Mazda dealerships are inviting metro Detroit residents to get behind the wheel and raise up to $40,000 for four area high schools through Mazda’s Be Moved Drive Program. The community engagement initiative brings Mazda dealerships, schools and local communities together while reinforcing Mazda’s commitment to helping develop safer drivers and stronger communities.

For every qualified test drive completed during each one-day event, Mazda will donate $50 to participating schools, up to $10,000 per event. Funds raised at Holly, Farmington and North Farmington High Schools will support their athletic departments, including travel, critical medical equipment and other needs. At Troy High School, funds will support the science program by going towards the build of a new greenhouse and outdoor learning space.

The event also gives participants an opportunity to experience Mazda vehicles firsthand and the brand’s approach to safety and driver confidence. Mazda was named Consumer Reports’ Safest New-Car Brand for 2026, and all tested Mazda vehicles earned 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards, more than any other brand as of July 2026.

Metro Detroit Mazda dealerships participating in the Be Moved Drive Program include Serra Mazda Brighton, Suburban Mazda of Troy and Suburban Mazda of Farmington Hills.

“Troy High School is excited to partner with Suburban Mazda of Troy to raise money to build a greenhouse and outdoor learning space that will provide hands-on environmental science experiences for every student,” said Autumn Spiteri, science teacher at Troy High. “Because Environmental Science is a graduation requirement, the greenhouse will impact generations of learners by allowing them to grow plants, conduct scientific investigations, analyze data and explore sustainability concepts firsthand. The project will also support Biology and Chemistry curricula while expanding opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. Through a partnership with Troy High's Composting Club, students will experience the full sustainability cycle, from diverting food waste and creating compost to growing healthy plants. This lasting resource will foster curiosity, environmental stewardship, and real-world problem-solving skills for years to come.”

The Mazda Be Moved Drive Program events will be held on the following dates. Members of the media are welcome to attend the Troy, Farmington and North Farmington events for on-site coverage:

— Friday, September 11, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Holly High School, 616 E. Holly Road, Holly

— Friday, September 18, 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Troy High School, 4777 Northfield Parkway, Troy

— Saturday, September 26, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Farmington High School, 32000 Shiawassee St., Farmington Hills

— ·Sunday, September 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at North Farmington High School, 32900 W. 13 Mile Road, Farmington Hills

All four events are free and open to the community. Participants must be 18 or older, a legal U.S. resident and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license to complete a qualified test drive that supports a school donation. Test drives are limited to one per qualified participant.

In its first year, Mazda raised more than $128,000 for schools across the country through the Be Moved Drive Program. Mazda is continuing its commitment in year two to uplifting communities, helping students discover what inspires them and creating stronger connections between local schools, dealerships and the neighbors they serve.
