Metro Detroit Weekend Weather: First Measurable Snow Expected
Chilly, wet weekend ahead, and you may need to find your snow shovel.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Get your snow shovel out. Metro Detroit could get its first measurable snowfall this weekend, though it probably won’t be enough to break your back.
Precipitation Sunday will start out as rain, then change over to snow in the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service. The snow should melt quickly because Monday’s high is expected to be in the low 40s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41, west wind around 8 mph. Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30, west wind 3 to 6 mph.
Sunday: 60 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m.; cloudy, with a high near 36; south-southwest wind 3 to 7 mph; precipitation of less than a 10th of an inch is possible. Sunday night: 60 percent chance of rain and snow, changing to all snow after 8 p.m., then gradually ending; cloudy, with a low around 32; snow accumulation of less than a half an inch possible.
