More Thunderstorms Possible Thursday Across Metro Detroit: MI Weather
Any storms that pop up can produce heavy downpours and strong wind gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour, forecasters said.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — More thunderstorms are possible Thursday across southeastern Michigan as stifling heat and humidity pound the region, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect the scattered storms to roll into southeastern Michigan sometime during the afternoon or evening hours when highs reach the low 90s with heat indices close to 100 degrees, according to the weather service.
Any storms that pop up will be capable of producing heavy downpours and strong wind gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour, according to the weather service.

A heat advisory remains in effect for southeastern Michigan areas along and south of Interstate 69 until 10 p.m.
There is also an air quality alert in place Thursday for Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties. Officials recommend avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, refueling vehicles and using gasoline powered lawn equipment.

A round of thunderstorms rolled through southeastern Michigan on Wednesday night, knocking out power to more than 40,000 in the region.
Forecasters warned more thunderstorm chances are possible Friday and through the weekend across southeastern Michigan. High temperatures will remain in the 90s until Sunday when temperatures fall into the 80s, according to the weather service.

Saturday: Chance of storms; High 93, Low 73
