Motorcyclist Hurt In Crash After Reaching 150 MPH On I-75 In Detroit: Police

The 21-year-old Sterling Heights man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police.​​​

DETROIT — A man was injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night on Interstate 75 in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 11:20 p.m. on northbound Interstate 75 just south of eastbound Davison Freeway, according to police.

Police said the motorcyclist was speeding over 150 miles per hour on the freeway where he struck a Honda CRV.

The Honda then struck the median wall and stopped in the left lane, according to police.

Officers found the motorcyclist lying unresponsive in the center lane near the motorcycle, which was on its side, according to police.

The Honda driver was not hurt in the crash, according to police.

No further information was immediately released.

"We continue to see excessive speed leading to preventable traffic crashes," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "There is no reason to drive faster than the speed limit. There is absolutely no reason to drive over 150 miles per hour. This is another reminder to drive responsibly."
