'This Old House' to Cover Rehab of Another Detroit House

The 1930s home in the Crary-St. Mary's section of Detroit's Grandmont-Rosedale neighborhood has been vacant for about a decade.

DETROIT, MI — The long-running PBS series “This Old House” will feature a rehab job on another abandoned Detroit home this season, the public television network said Wednesday. The 1930s home in the Crary-St. Mary’s section of Detroit's Grandmont-Rosedale neighborhood has been vacant for about a decade.

The home is getting a redo under the Rehabbed & Ready program, a public-private partnership with the Detroit Land Bank, Quicken Loans and Home Depot that was launched in 2015 to restore abandoned homes and sell them at move-in ready condition to buyers who agree to live in them.

“The Detroit episodes will present the city's housing situation in a new light, as residents and leaders are finding the best ways to reclaim and restore their community homes,” Chris Wolfe, the show's executive producer, said in a press release. “Our team is honored to take part in these efforts in this landmark city.”
