DETROIT, MI — Activists are ramping up their pressure on Congress to start the process to remove President Trump from office, and are staging “Impeachment Marches” in dozens of U.S. cities on Sunday, July 2. In Michigan, marches are planned in both Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Though announced before fired FBI director James Comey’s testified before Congress and lay out a case against Trump for obstruction of justice and interference in the investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign, recent developments are sure energize activists.

Organizers, who are said to be the same forces behind the Tax Day protests earlier this year to demand Trump release his tax returns, said on an event website that Trump “has been in blatant violation of the Constitution from the day he was sworn into the office of president.”

Trump responded to Comey’s testimony Sunday morning, casting him as a cowardly leaker.

“I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very ‘cowardly!’ ”
