Aquarium to offer college students the opportunity to go behinds the scenes and interact with their family of sea creatures.

SEA LIFE Michigan at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, will be opening their doors to college students this spring with the opportunity to work with hundreds of sea creatures for their Careers in Conservation program. Applications will open on SEA LIFE Michigan’s Facebook page Sunday, April 22.

In honor of Earth Day, the AZA accredited aquarium will be opening applications to all qualified college students for the chance to assist their aquarists in keeping the many species of underwater creatures at the attraction happy and healthy. Students can submit a resume and a brief essay on why they are right for the job through the Facebook page. A total of five students will be chosen to attend.
“We are dedicated to conservation and protecting wildlife at SEA LIFE Michigan and are excited to share that with the next generation,” said Kelli Cadenas, SEA LIFE Michigan displays curator. “This has been a great success for us with previous Career in Conservation days and we look forward to teaching students the correct techniques on caring for our creatures and creating healthy and engaging environments for them to live and grow in. This special day gives youth a taste of what pursuing a career that protects and fortifies our oceans mesmerizing and unique wildlife would be like.”
Students will be able to go behind the scenes at the aquarium and see how SEA LIFE Michigan keeps their friendly sea creatures, happy, healthy and well fed. They can also help in educating visitors and teaching them more about protection and conservation efforts of endangered animals throughout the world.
