DETROIT, MI — Thunderstorms are rolling into the metro Detroit area and the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert for Wayne, Monroe, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties Tuesday. Showers are expected throughout the day with the worst of the storms between 7-11 p.m. Tuesday night, according to the forecast. This includes damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and pea-sized hail also possible. Up to a half an inch of rain is expected during the day, with another almost inch predicted overnight.
