Severe Thunderstorms, Hail Possible Tuesday

The storms are headed our way this week, bringing 60 mph winds and possibly hail.

DETROIT, MI — Thunderstorms are rolling into the metro Detroit area and the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert for Wayne, Monroe, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties Tuesday.

Showers are expected throughout the day with the worst of the storms between 7-11 p.m. Tuesday night, according to the forecast. This includes damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and pea-sized hail also possible.

Up to a half an inch of rain is expected during the day, with another almost inch predicted overnight. While the storms will subside after Tuesday night, rain and even snow are in the forecast for the rest of the week.
