Weekly Weather: Storms Coming In Before Warm-Up

METRO DETROIT, MI — Starting the week off this week was just a tad bit of sun followed by a few storms. Expect thunderstorms Monday night, especially south of the I-69 corridor, throughout Tuesday. A Hazardous Weather Alert has been issued for the area for more possible lakeshore flooding and fog with reduced visibilities during the storms.

The rest of the week shows a major warm-up with temps reaching the mid 80s.

Monday

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 66. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday night

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 3am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3am. Patchy fog after 9pm. Low around 54. East wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9am, then a chance of showers between 9am and 3pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Light and variable wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind 5 to 9 mph.

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. North wind around 6 mph.
