20th Annual Saline Celtic Festival is slated for July 11

Celtic music and dance, Highland athletics, children's activities, jousting and more

The July 11 Saline Celtic Festival will showcase headliners Dragon Wagon, Stone Clover, Nessa, The Tosspints, Equinox, The Waxies, Corktown Popes, Brother Crowe, Peat in the Creel, Raven Song, Roane, Celtic Jam, and Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic.

The Festival also features performances by the Tartan and Thistle Scottish Country Dancers, Ensoleil, Nutshell Trio, Damsha Ulsce Ban Mor, Ann Arbor Celtic Harpers, Commonwealth Dance Collective, Irish Dance Company of Lansing, Dancin’ with Delia Irish Dance School, Dancin’ Feet School of Gaelic Culture and Dance, and Ann Arbor Morris Dance.

Enjoy more Celtic fun with Highland athletics, jousting, Ring of Steel, Society for Creative Anachronism, Ann Arbor Sword Club, falconry, clans, Wee Folks activities for children, “Princess Merida,” pipe and drum bands, “Millie the Mill Pond Monster,” sheepdog herding demonstrations, textile weaving, Michigan craft beers, food, merchants, and much more.

Crowd participation events include Golf Chipping, Haggis Hurl, and Celtic Clobber, and a 300-foot zip line ride, ($10/ride or $18/2 riders). 

The “Quest For Mystic Fire” Laser Show, the tale of Merton of Mortontown and his quest for a wizard who can defeat the fierce pond monster, will be shown at dusk.

10 a.m. to midnight (opening ceremony at 11 a.m.) Mill Pond Park, West Bennett Street, Saline. $10 for adults in advance at salineceltic.org, $15 at the gate; $5 ages 13-17; (ages 12 and under, age 65 and up, and active military, free). Parking at Saline Middle School (includes handicap parking), Liberty School, and three City parking lots downtown, with free shuttle buses running continuously.
