Groovin' in the Garden is a free outdoor concert on June 13th from 3pm-6pm as part of West Side Art Hop. We'll have a food truck on site for purchase, as well as lawn games and activities for kids. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and make a picnic of it!

Submit an original photo for a chance to win a gift card. Be sure to 
get creative and have fun!&nbsp; Submit up to one photo in three different 
categories:

<li>Animals</li>
<li>Summer</li>
<li>America the Beautiful</li>
</ul>
RULES &amp; DETAILS:
Participants must be entering grades 5 through 12 in the fall of 2026. 
All entries must be participant’s own, original photographs. 
Photos may be manipulated for artistic purposes. 
Entries will be judged in three categories:&nbsp; Michigan, Summer, and Animals. 
Participants may submit up to one photo in each of the three categories. 
All categories are open for interpretation. 
Composition, originality, and technique will be considered in judging. 
Deadline for all entries is Friday, July 31, 2026. 
Two winners will be chosen in each of the three categories. 
Winners will be announced by Monday, August 17, 2026. 
Photo entries will be posted in the Library’s Teen Zone and on the Library’s website.
All entries must be emailed to the Teen/Tween Librarian&nbsp;at <a href="mailto:mhall@dexter.lib.mi.us">mhall@dexter.lib.mi.us </a>and must include the following:

emergency vehicles for children and adults of all ages to experience, 
rain or shine. The parking lot will be closed during this event to allow
 freedom to browse, tour and talk to the owners and operators of the 
wonderful machines that make our lives easier and safer. Bring your 
camera – there will be plenty of photo opportunities with the vehicles 
and special costumed character of a blue alien named “Stitchy” visiting 
from 10:30-11:30. This family fun event is free and open to everyone.&nbsp;Registration is not required.
