Residents of Washtenaw County can take advantage of double the energy rebates starting now through the end of the year for energy efficient home upgrades. Southfield-based Go Green Energy Consulting is one of several approved contractors installing these upgrades and helping homeowners receive rebates. The initial rebate is offered by DTE Energy and is now being matched by Better Buildings for Michigan, Washtenaw County, doubling the benefits to homeowners.
“A similar savings program was rolled out earlier this year in seven Michigan counties,” said Adam Duke of Go Green. “Finally here in Washtenaw County thousands of residents can receive double the rebates for improvements that will make their homes more comfortable and utilities more affordable.”
Homeowners must pay $50 to enroll with Better Buildings for Michigan to be eligible. Go Green Energy will perform a high-tech energy audit of each home, and will provide a detailed report outlining the home’s features that would benefit from improvements. Following the report, homeowners will decide which improvements they want to carry through – more improvements equal larger rebates received.

“The report we generate after the energy audit really opens the eyes of the homeowners. They begin to see what measures will make an impact on the drafts in both their homes and wallets. Now higher rebates mean even more homeowners will take advantage of the measures, with less spent out-of-pocket,” said Duke.
Go Green’s work in Washtenaw County has already begun and will soon include service to a couple from Ann Arbor with two adjoining properties, both home-based businesses. The properties will receive upgrades like air sealing, attic and crawl space insulation, and appliance tune-ups or replacements. The homeowners, Judy Stone and Ann-Margaret Giovino, signed up for service earlier this summer after contacting Go Green and were thrilled to learn of the double rebate.

“The regular rebates are already enticing, but knowing they’re now doubled is a huge incentive,” said Stone. “This is a triple play – it will help our household and business finances tremendously to be able to have the work done, will allow us to conserve as much energy as possible, and then we’ll save money on bills every month going forward.”
Financing is also available for eligible homeowners and may include reduced rate loans as low as zero percent. To take advantage of this opportunity, reduce utility bills and improve your home’s energy efficiency please contact Go Green Energy Consulting at 248.233.7933 or info@gogreenec.com.
