Don't get me wrong, ice cream anywhere is on my key food list. But tonight's French Vanilla ice cream would have been a higher order of dessert if it were married with the delightful rasberry strudel I had this afternoon at Joe & Rosie's.
The pastry was a perfect rectangle with a well formed crispy crust. The rasberry filling was smooth and just sweet enough for my limited taste. I left no crumbs as prisoner of the plate. So next time, I recommend you get one of the fresh strudels.
Take it home and place a layer of your favorite ice cream on top. And, if you're nice, share the strudel and ice cream with members of the family: A nice two or three scoop bowl shared with a quarter of a strudel would help welcome sweet dreams.
