The Chelsea High School Theater Guild recently performed Red Dress Diaries at the District level of the One Act Statewide Theater competition presented by the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association.

During the competition, each school presents a One Act play. There is an area marked off on the stage and the school has 45 minutes to place their set in the marked area, perform their play and remove the set from the marked area.
Chelsea advanced from Districts to Regionals which will be held in Olivet on Saturday February 8th, 2014 and hope to advance to the State Finals which will be held on February 15th, 2014 at Avondale High School.

Red Dress Diaries is a newly published play by Coralie Cederna Johnson. Red Dress Diaries is a collection of monologues and ensemble scenes. The play deals with a variety of social issues, handled with authenticity, integrity and sensitivity. The playwright has given voice to an array of characters addressing such matters as bullying, peer pressure, racism, eating disorders, broken dreams and many more.
On Thursday January 30th, 2014, the Theater Guild will be presenting one public performance of Red Dress Diaries at 7:00pm at the Chelsea High School Auditorium. General admission tickets are $6.00 for everyone.
