Dexter Cross Country Teams Place Third at Bedford Invitational
The Dreadnaughts will head to Michigan State University for the Spartan Invitational on Friday.
The Dexter cross country program attended the SEC Jamboree No. 1 on Tuesday in Bedford, a crossover meet that saw all 12 SEC teams competing.
Dexter placed third behind Saline and Ann Arbor Pioneer.
The DHS girls' varsity team had several standout runners, including Alison McLean (14th, 20:40), Alex Ammann (17th, 20:46), and Elizabeth Greve (22nd, 20:59).

"We have a strong team this year and we have shown improvement at each competition," coach Cheryl McLean said.
Other top varsity girls included Ryle Hanson (21:05.4), Robin Jackson (21:05.7), Madeleine Nicholas (21:13 ), Elise Dombkowski (21:15), Paige O'Piela (21:18), Cailin McLean (21:35) and Mara Bottomley (22:12).

The top seven girls in the junior varsity race were led by Charlotte Read (10th, 21:53), Grace Latshaw (16th, 21:53), and Marissa Butler (19th, 22:32).
Rounding out Dexter's top finishers are Abbie Betzolt (23:02), Krista Schaefer (23:13), Tara Stetler (23:18), and Emily Bishop (23:26).
"It was a hot, dusty course and the girls ran very strong. We continue to show improvement at each competition. We are looking forward to Spartan Invitational on Friday," McLean said.
Matt Greve and Joe Wendorf finished in the top 10 for the boys' team.
