The Dexter girls' soccer team continues to dominate the field, with a 8-0 victory over Adrian on May 15.
“Adrian played the game with some good intensity and an organized defense that played well against us,” Dexter’s coach Scott Forrester said.

Adrian did well to hold the high powered Dexter offense off the scoreboard until nine minutes into the game.
On Senior Night, it was appropriate for senior Emily Tarnaski to score the Dread’s first goal, assisted by Alex Dinser.

“It was a nice ball clipped in by Alex to Emily, who let it bounce once, then chipped it in over the Adrian keeper,” said Forrester.
Seven minutes later, senior Nicole Lucas added another goal after picking up a ball and firing it into the net. With 15 minutes left in the half, Hannah Ruble fired a shot on goal that was partially deflected but then headed in to the Adrian goal by Dinser.
Lucas picked up her second goal of the game when she intercepted a ball played out by the Adrian keeper and passed it into the goal. Up 4-0 at the half-time break, the players relaxed a bit as the Dexter Soccer Club held the final round of their club-wide penalty kick shot contest.
As the second half began, it didn’t take long for the Dreads to play into fine form when Hannah Ruble crossed a nice ball into the far post to an onrushing Lucas, who miss-struck the ball into the pathway of Dinser for the finish.
Three minutes later, Kat Kerska served a long ball in from the right flank into the run of Ruble for her to re-direct it into the goal. Another three minutes later, it would be Kerska picking up a ball from around the midfield strip to dribble past a few defenders and strike it past the hapless Adrian keeper.
Sarah Silvasi provided the finishing touch after being pulled from her keeper responsibilities to score the eighth and final goal, assisted by Lucas, to end the game with just under seven minutes to play. Up by eight in the second half, the mercy rule was invoked and the game ended.
