The audition required performance of a prepared etude, memorized scales and sight reading. According to Dexter High School band director Kenneth Moore, being named to an All State ensemble is “one of the most prestigious honors a student musician in Michigan can receive.”

Included on the Honorable Mention list was Zachary Kaufman (senior, alto saxophone).
