Dexter Sweeps High Jump and Pole Vault Events Against Tecumseh

The varsity boys and girls' teams recorded personal bests in the pole vault competition on Tuesday.

Braving the high winds and fading daylight, Dexter High School's varsity track team brought their "A game" against Tecumseh on Tuesday.

DHS sophomore Noah Gary took first place in the high jump clearing a 6-foot bar, while freshman Sarah Stone came in first in the women's high jump with 4 feet 10 inches. Teammate Allison Franz jumped to third with a height of 4 feet 8 inches.

Seniors Claire Tewksbury and Nicole Ferguson led the women's vaulters to victory with heights of 11 feet 6 inches, and 11 feet, respectively, while Alex Ammann became the 10th Dexter women's vaulter to qualify for regionals with a height of 9 feet.

Michelle Klein and Micaela Conter tied for third place at a height of 10 feet 6 inches. Freshmen Casey Hansen and Jack Derloshon took second and third places in the men's pole vault event, at 12 feet and 11 feet respectively.

Other track and field event results from Tuesday's home meet will be posted as they become available. The teams will face Ypsilanti at home on May 1.
