Dexter coach Dave Testa said Chelsea was a difficult match-up for his squad.

“We knew going in that they were a very good team with a lot of depth,” he said.

Despite the setback, Testa remained upbeat as the Dreadnaughts prepare for their final few meets of the season.

“Our attention turns to the second most important meet of the season Friday at Milford,” he said. “The regional (meet) serves as the qualifying meet for the state meet June 4 at Rockford. There is a lot of nervous excitement among the kids and coaches as we get close to regionals. The competition will be great. The kids are ready to step up and compete.”
