Dexter Village Council Renames Warrior Creek Park
The park will be renamed Mill Creek Park due to its proximity to a second park currently under construction.

The Dexter Village Council unanimously approved a resolution to rename Warrior Creek Park to Mill Creek Park at its regular meeting Monday.
Warrior Creek Park is a 2.15-acre park, located behind the main station on Main Street next to the Mill Creek. The park received its current name as a result of a village-sponsored naming contest at Dexter Community Schools. The winning name was submitted by the Warriors.
The name was changed to Mill Creek park following a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Commission since the park is located adjacent to Mill Creek and a second 4-acre park that is currently being developed.

"Both parks will be called Mill Creek Park for consistency since they are adjacent to one another and connected by pedestrian activity," the village resolution states. "The parks are destined to be described as one unit and with several access points, therefore changing the park's name will provide more consistency with park signage."

- The council approved a resolution approving the refinancing of water and sewer bonds that were issued in 1999. Refinancing the bonds will result in a savings of $1.3 million for the village, and a reduction of the remaining term of the loan to 20 years, which takes six years off of the sewer bond and three years off of the water bond.
