CIVIL WAR DAYS CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Historical Society Plans Moving Forward
Dexter, MI (April 18, 2011) -- The Dexter Historical Society is recruiting area volunteers to assist in the production of Civil War Days at Gordon Hall. An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, May 2 at 7pm in the Dexter Library lower level. Assignments are available with different levels of commitment including pie baking, onsite ticket sales, light construction, crowd control, and more.  Attendance at the June event itself may not be required. ABOUT CIVIL WAR DAYS AT GORDON HALL
Civil War Days at Gordon Hall is expected to be a showcase event in the State of Michigan’s sesquicentennial celebration of the American Civil War. It will run June 10-12 and feature 1860s military and civilian culture in an entertaining and interesting environment for visitors of all ages. Online at www.dextermuseum.org and in your local paper. ABOUT THE DEXTER AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY & MUSEUM
Located in the Village of Dexter, Michigan, the Dexter Area Historical Society and Museum serves as western Washtenaw County's link with  history. The group was founded in 1971 and owns and operates a  museum and the nearby historic Gordon Hall, the 1840’s estate of the community’s founding Samuel Dexter family.
