
Winter Hours of Operation: The visitor center will be open weekends only January through March. Saturdays, 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays, 12 pm to 5 pm.

Rec 101: Winter Tracking - Search for critter tracks in snow or mud, match up animal feet to their tracks, and cast a track to take home.
Saturday, January 14th @ 2 p.m.
Ski and Sip - Cross country ski the Waterloo Recreation Area’s glacial topography for a fun and active outdoor time. Coffee or hot cocoa provided.

Rec 101: Feeder Birds - Hike and learn to identify the common birds of winter by call, silhouette, and behavior.
Saturday, January 28th @ 2 p.m.
Rec 101: Winter Ecology - Find out what’s going on under the snow and out in the open during the winter season. Walk with the Park Interpreter to discover animal hiding places and learn to identify trees and shrubs without
leaves.

All of these programs are free of charge, however a Recreation Passport is required for vehicles entering the
Waterloo Recreation Area. Michigan residents can purchase the Recreation Passport ($10 for motor vehicles; $5 for motorcycles) by checking "YES" on their license plate renewal forms, or at any state park or recreation area.
