This installment of Larry Martin's lecture series "In Their Own Words" will follow Bill Ingrahm, Death Railway POW.
Mr. Ingrahm was taken prisoner by the Japanese and forced to work on the railway connecting Thailand to Burma (which included the infamous bridge over the River Kwai). This railway would become known as the "Death Railway" as 100,000 forced laborers lost their lives during construction.
Martin presents historic memorabilia along with Mr. Ingrahm's recorded interview, where he explains how he survived horrible working conditions and malnourishment during his imprisonment.
