Farm Fresh Food Days in Dexter Schools

This month the Dexter Wellness Coalition's Farm to School Coordinator will be working with Dexter Community Schools' Food and Nutrition staff to sample Whole Grain Blueberry Bars featuring:

Locally grown Organic Multigrain Flour from Westwind Milling Co. in Linden, MI AND local Blueberry Preserves from Brownwood Farms in Williamsburg, MI.

Dexter Food and Nutrition is ordering both of these products through Cherry Capital Foods, a local-to-local distribution company based in Northern MI.

The local foods will be featured in all six Dexter schools (see details and dates HERE).  Special guest Linda, the co-owner and miller at Westwind Milling CO., will bring her mortar and pestle to show students at Cornerstone Elementary how grain is ground into flour.

Sign up to VOLUNTEER and help promote healthy food and local agriculture to Dexter students!
