Happy Father's Day! Cancer Update from the Sayer Family

Dear Friends,

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday, we celebrated my husband, Ben. He is strong, brave, and dear. He has navigated the past nine months with grace, courage and faith. Last October, Ben was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He has endured multiple treatments. We await his follow-up appointment (later this month), hoping for and expecting good news. We pray the cancer has not returned.
In the meantime, we've received the unfortunate news that Ben's contract will not be renewed. June 30 is his last day of employment. We are working on finding and creating sources of income.
This year has been a great challenge. Yet the overriding feelings I have are gratitude, faith, love, courage and appreciation. We have been blessed with many friends like you reaching out with prayers, contributions, love, support, and encouragement. Friends have shared their stories of survival, and we have gained strength and wisdom from you.
Logan, Paige and I are spending days together outdoors as much as possible, reveling in the summery weather. I do feel most alive when the sun shines. Ben has been in bed for six weeks with treatment-related side effects. Fortunately, he can still accomplish his work on the computer. He joins in family activities when he can.
We are taking life one day at a time. And finding joy in every precious moment we have together.
love to your family from ours,
Carrie, Ben, Logan and Paige Sayer
