Photo Gallery: Washtenaw Interclub Swimming Conference Championship (UPDATED)

Some of Washtenaw County's younger competitive swimmers got a chance to test the waters on Thursday during day four of the 51st annual Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference Championship.

The event featured 18 different swim clubs competing in the 11- and 12-year-old category at Saline High School.

Dexter ended the four-day tournament with a final score of 2,197 to capture second place. The Huron Valley Swim Club took first place with 3,599 points.

Highlights of the afternoon included:

• John Crane placed third in the boys 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:45.98 for Dexter.
• Kaylee Witte of Dexter placed fifth with a time of 2:23.56 in the girls 200-yard freestyle.
• Maya Taleb Bendiab of Dexter placed second in the girls 100-yard swim with a time of 1:37.39.
• Popi Vorias of Dexter placed second in girls diving.
• In the 200 medley relay, the Dexter team of Matt Bergdolt, Mitchell Houghtaling, Justice Heerema and Alex Hazelton came in third place with a time of 2:12.01.
• Matt Bergdolt came in second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.75.
• In the 50-yard butterfly, Justice Heerema of Dexter placed second with 30.28. In the 100-yard freestyle, Heerema came in third with a time of 1:01.21.
• In the 50 backstroke, Matt Bergdolt of Dexter placed third with 32.11.
• Annette Schultz, Gretchen Schultz, Kaylee Witte and Nell Kacmarek of Dexter placed first in the girls' 200 medley relay with a time of 2:05.66.
• Nell Kacmarek of Dexter came in second place in the 200-yard girls' freestyle with a time of 2:11.43.
• Lizzy Merriman of Dexter came in first with a time of 1:09.37 and Jessica Wu of Dexter placed second with a time of 1:11.79 in the girls' 100 IM.
• Gretchen Schultz of Dexter placed first in the girls' 50 freestyle with a score of 27.60
• Kaylee Witte of Dexter placed second in the 50 Butterfly with a score of 31.67. Jessica Wu of Dexter placed third with a score of 31.84.
• Nell Kacmarek of Dexter placed first in the girls' 50 backstroke with a score of 32.04. Annette Schultz of Dexter placed third with a score of 33.22.
• Gretchen Schultz of Dexter placed first in the girls' 50 breaststroke with a score of 34.18. Lizzy Merriman placed second (35.11) and Daniella Rupert placed fifth (36.55).
• In the girls' 200 freestyle relay, Dexter's Annette Schultz, Lizzy Merriman, Nell Kacmarek and Gretchen Schultz placed first with a time of 1:51.81. Kaylee Witte, Isabella Garcia, Danielle Westman and Daniella Rupert placed third with a time of 2:00.07.

An end-of-season party for all swimmers will take place Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Country Club.
