Thread Sketching - Saturday June 28th, in Brighton

You can see this project framed and it's companion piece "Bashful Sunflower" at Creative Quilts in Brighton.

This project is fun and easy to do and the great thing about it the "less perfect" you are in your stitching, the better it looks!

The project is two 8x10 pieces of photo/fabric sewn together - so your finished project will be approximately 10" x 16".

You'll practice with an old needle and no thread on pre-printed papers, then when you are confident, you'll advance to again stitching with no thread on a paper copy of the sunflower image.

And after sewing the two pieces of photo/fabric together you are ready to actually stitch on the photo/fabric -using black thread (or whatever you like)you "outline" each color change three times.

The "sketchier" (less perfect) you are the better it looks!

The class lasts three hours, not everybody will get their project finished, but they will feel comfortable taking it home to complete.

I'll supply the all the practice papers, the photo/fabric pre-printed with the sunflower image and the batting.

You bring your machine that you can drop the feed dogs on, black thread (or whatever you would like to use), old & new needles, scissors and darning foot.

We'll also talk about what photo/fabric I like (and which I don't) and I'll have samples of many of the other companies products to show you.

We'll all be working on the sunflower project shown above, but you'll learn how to print your own images and what photo/fabric to use to create great project using your own photos.

I'll also have a few kits (two 8x10 sheets of the printed image and the batting) of the companion image (Bashful Sunflower) and others images available to purchase for $10.

Cost for the thee hour class is $30 due upon registration, plus a $5 material fee due during the class.
