Vehicle Strikes Man on Baker Road in Dexter

A 70-year-old Dexter resident was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Baker Road near the on Thursday night.

According to Dexter Area Fire Department Capt. Don Dettling, the man was attempting to cross the street to mail a letter when a white Nissan Altima grazed him.

Dettling said neither the man nor the vehicle's driver sustained injury in the accident.

"He is being taken to the hospital as a precaution," Dettling said.

The name of the man was not released at press time. Dettling said no citations were issued in the accident.

The Dexter Area Fire Department, Huron Valley Ambulance and Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the scene at 9:01 p.m.
