Prosecutors opposed her request for a special youthful status that could spare her a public conviction, and a sentencing hearing is set for June 9. 
• Eastpointe business owner finds massive maple tree dumped in his parking lot (wxyz.com) — A 9 Mile business owner in Eastpointe discovered a massive load of maple logs mysteriously dumped across his parking lot, all captured on security cameras. After days of searching around town, he and a neighbor realized a tree company had accidentally delivered the wood to the wrong address, leaving them to sort out the mess and hope the company comes back to haul it away.
• Technical snafu prompts delay in court hearing for Partridge Creek shooting suspects (macombdaily.com) — Eastpointe residents should know one of the Partridge Creek shooting suspects also has a separate case pending in Eastpointe, while remaining jailed on high bonds. A massive trove of phone evidence caused a technical delay in their preliminary hearing, now pushed to July 17, as attorneys argue over bond reductions, school and sports futures, and public safety concerns.
