• Lucky 13th anniversary for Eaton Rapids GAR Museum (county-journal.com) — Eaton Rapids’ GAR Museum is celebrating 13 years of preserving the town’s Civil War heritage in its historic South Main Street hall. Local leaders and volunteers helped secure collector Don Limpert’s extensive artifacts and turn the former GAR post into a community-run museum that honors Union veterans and the Brainerd family. Residents can learn more and plan visits through the museum’s Facebook page.
   

• Eleven dining spots in Eaton County had perfect inspections in September (lansingstatejournal.com) — Several Eaton Rapids spots, including Big Cheezy Grill, Rocking Chair Deserters, and Simply Stacy’s, earned perfect food-safety inspections in September. The Barry-Eaton District Health Department found no violations at these locations, giving local diners extra confidence. The list also highlights other clean kitchens across Eaton County, from Charlotte to Lansing and Potterville.
