1 Hurt Shooting Outside Oakland County Steel Plant: Police
Police said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two people who work at the plant.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI β One person was injured in a shooting Tuesday morning during a workplace dispute outside an Oakland County industrial plant, according to police.
The shooting happened at 8:05 a.m. in the parking lot at Specialty Steel Treating Inc, which is located on 8 Mile Road near Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills, according to police.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found one person who admitted to being involved in the shooting, according to police.

Officers then learned a second person was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to police.
He was listed in critical but stable condition, according to police.

Officers seized two guns at the scene and detained several people, but did not immediately arrest anyone in connection with the shooting, according to police.
Police said the shooting was related to a workplace dispute that had been going on between the two workers.
"At this time, there is no danger to the public. All involved parties have been identified and the weapons involved have been seized," Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King said. "I want to commend the speed and efficiency of our officers' response, in containing and stabilizing this dangerous scene and ensuring the safety of our community."
