2 Dead In Oakland County Wrong-Way Crash: Police

Police were still investigating the crash and trying to determine how the wrong-way driver got onto the freeway.

SOUTHFIELD, MI — Two elderly men were killed in a wrong-way crash on a Southfield freeway Sunday, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened Sunday evening on northbound Lodge Freeway at Evergreen Road, according to police.

Police said a 74-year-old man was driving the wrong-way on the freeway and collided head-on with a car that a 74-year-old Dearborn man was driving, according to police.

The wrong-way driver was killed in the crash, while the Dearborn man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, according to police.

Police were still investigating the crash and trying to determine how the wrong-way driver got onto the freeway.
