Allegedly Drunk, Driver Falls Asleep in Traffic on 8 Mile
Sleepy driver, who had a blood alcohol content of .147 percent, fell asleep as he was fingerprinted, Farmington Hills police said.

A 37-year-old Detroit man picked the wrong place to sleep it off: the westbound lane of Eight Mile Road.

The driver apparently was too tired or too drunk — Farmington Hills police ticketed him for drunken driving about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday — to continue, according to Hometownlife.com.

The driver was jolted awake by police pounding on the window then attempted to put the vehicle in gear and drive away.
Uhm, not so fast, police said.
The driver was slurring his words, his breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was confused about the day, time and where he was,police said.
He struggled with police during an attempted field sobriety test and eventually refused it, but a later test showed his blood alcohol content was .147 percent.
Police said the man fell asleep during fingerprinting.
