Botsford Hospital Names New VPs

Both promoted from within the Farmington Hills health care organization

David Gaffney and Narendra Sanath-Kumar, DPT, have been promoted to serve as vice presidents at Botsford Hospital. Their new positions became effective on Nov. 2.

In his new role, Gaffney has responsibility over all functions related to Imaging Services, Lab Services and Radiation Oncology. His previous position at Botsford was director of Diagnostic Imaging Services, a position he held since coming to Botsford in 2012.

Prior to Botsford, Gaffney worked for Henry Ford Macomb Hospital-Warren Campus, where he served as director of Medical Imaging. His career also includes radiologic positions at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Providence Hospital and the former St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Macomb. Gaffney holds a master of business administration degree from University of Detroit Mercy and a bachelor’s degree in radiology from St. Mary’s College.

Kumar came to Botsford in 2012 as director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Now, he not only holds responsibility for that department, but also leads Botsford’s Environmental and Linen Services, Food Services, Plant and Technology Management, and Security.

Before coming to Botsford Hospital, Kumar worked at Garden City Hospital as director of Rehabilitation Therapies and Sports Medicine. Kumar’s prior work experience includes a previous stint at Botsford as manager of Therapy Services and other physical rehabilitation positions in the United Kingdom and India. He holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences - A.T. Still University, Mesa, Ariz.

Annually, Botsford cares for about 16,000 inpatients and more than 60,000 emergency and trauma patients with a team of approximately 2,500 employees, 300 volunteers and 600 physicians.
