As the Post Service Officer, Mallia carries on the tradition and quality of The American Legion’s Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation program. (VA&R).

The VA&R program involves a comprehensive network of service officers at the
Post, County, District, Department, and National levels to furnish direct assistance
to veterans and their dependents and survivors, in claims for any federal or
state benefits or services to which they may be entitled.

For example, just during the month of December, 2011 Tony Mallia conducted 10 personal interviews, filed 3 original claims, re-opened 2 claims, and filed 2 claims for an increase of benefits for Service Connected Disability Compensation.  Plus, he opened 5 claims for Non-Service Connected Disability Pensions.
