TENT SALE SHOPPING SEASON

Tent Sale Shopping in July offers wonderful deals for the summer season.  This is a time when  retailers clear out summer merchandise and start receiving a bit of early fall merchandise.

 Here are a few tips to keep in mind to get the most out of your shopping trip:

 1.  If you find an item that you really like, and there are a few still in stock, ask the retailer if prices will be brought down further on the last day of the sale.  You may be able to enjoy greater savings on that piece.

 2.  Savings on seasonal clearance items should be at least 60%. 

 3.  Although the tent sale is meant to help reduce currently seasonal merchandise, often times there will be new merchandise offered in the tent – or in the building – at early bird savings. 

 4.  Tent sales are usually a great time to save on certain accessories that aren’t normally on sale.  This is a good time to stock up on accessories for upcoming gift giving.

 5.  Don’t be afraid to ask for an additional discount if there seems to be a flaw with the item – a missing button, broken belt loop or an ink mark. 

 6.  Make sure you understand the return policy.  Many of these items will be offered “as is” and as “final sales”.  No returns will be accepted.  Look over each item and make sure you are comfortable with the piece you are purchasing.

 7.  If you are finding several items that you are interested in, ask the retailer if additional items will be brought out during the next few sales days.  Sometimes you may be able to browse through merchandise that is not out on the racks yet.

 8.  Try on items before buying them if the return policy does not apply to sale items.

 9.  Tent sales offer a good opportunity to stock up on basics – tanks and shells, T’s and sweaters, sandals, and key accessories such as bangles and hoop earrings.

 10.  Although most of the sale merchandise will be out in the tent – don’t forget to visit inside the retailer’s facility.  Often the sale continues in doors --- you may even be offered some refreshments!
