City of Farmington Hills Hosts Veterans Day Regional Event

Stars and Stripes Forever honors area veterans at the Costick Center.

The Senior Division takes great pride each year in recognizing and honoring community veterans with the annual Stars and Stripes Forever celebration.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the in Farmington Hills. Tickets for the fifteenth annual celebration for adults 50 and better are $8 until Nov. 1 or $10 afterwards and at the door.

The Stars and Stripes Forever Celebration has again received special recognition as a national Dept. of Veterans Affairs Veterans Day Regional Site. All veterans in the area and their guests are welcome to attend. The event will include an honor guard ceremony conducted by Wixom VFW and the American Legion, and a roll call of all veterans in attendance. The celebration continues with a luncheon, dancing to a live band, raffles and prizes, and a special sweets table.

β€œStars and Stripes Forever presents an opportunity to express the gratitude we feel toward those who served our country,” said Mary DiManno, Senior Division Supervisor. β€œWe are very appreciative and excited about the great honor of being chosen as a Veterans Day Regional Site and we look forward to paying tribute to our veterans.”
