Emergency Preparedness Commission to Hold Women's Self Defense Seminar
The Farmington Hills and Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission will present a Women's Self-Defense Seminar on Saturday, April 22.
From the City of Farmington Hills: The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC) will present a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Saturday, April 22 from 9 to 11:45 a.m. in the Shannon Room at the Costick Center, located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road between Middlebelt and Inkster.
Instruction will be provided by certified coaches from Second Nature Self Defense, which is located in Plymouth. Participants will learn how to protect themselves and their families in a non-intimidating, supportive environment. No previous experience is required. The event will be active and hands-on, so anyone who attends should wear comfortable clothing.
The self-defense seminar is open to all women ages 11 and older. There is no charge to attend. Tax deductible donations will be accepted at the seminar for HAVEN, an Oakland County crisis and counseling center for victims of domestic violence.

Pre-registration is recommended, since participation is limited to the first 125 callers. Over 1,200 women have participated in the EPC’s popular self-defense seminars since they were first presented in 2007.
