Fake Gun Sends Milford GM Facility Into Lockdowns: Reports

Milford, Michigan, police determined that a training rifle was brought into the General Motors facility for a testing project.

MILFORD, MI — A General Motors facility in Milford was on lockdown for a time Friday morning after officers received a tip that someone entered the facility with a rifle, according to multiple reports, citing Milford police.

Police responded to the GM Proving Grounds in Milford and determined there was no active shooter, as the training rifle was brought into the facility for a testing project, officials said.

Workers at the facility were testing how the rifle would fit in a new police vehicle that's under development, officials said.
