Area dancers that attend The Barbara Hatch School of Dance in downtown Farmington, did quite well at the Odyssey Dance Competition held at Clawson High School this past weekend. The competition, held Friday through Sunday May 9th, 10th and 11th, featured dance schools from the entire southeastern Michigan area.
Some notable achievements were:
In Lyrical Dance
First overall in Junior Advanced Small Group - "Teenage Dream"
First overall as well as "Most Entertaining" in Senior Advanced Small Group - "Nora".
In Jazz Dance
First overall in Teen Advanced Small Group - "Mercedes Boy"
In Hip Hop
First place in Junior Hip Hop Advanced Large Group - "Can't Touch This"
Judges voted two Hatch Dancers as Performer Of The Weekend:
Emily Gruenwald in the Teen category and Madalyn Geletzke in the Senior category.
