Farmington Hills Honors Outstanding Employees

The city's annual awards ceremony recognizes outstanding employees nominated by their peers.

Farmington Hills city employees gathered at the Monday to honor longevity, creativity and outstanding service to the city and local residents.Β

Firefighter of the Year
Lt. Jason Olszewski

City Assessor Matt Dingman received the 2011 IDEAS (Innovation Drives Excellence and Savings) Award for suggesting the city impose a fee for property transfer transactions. City manager Steve Brock said the new user fee that applies to a small number of land owners "contributes to the benefit of the city and its taxpayers".Β 

Along with the other awards, 94 employees were honored for longevity, from a large group celebrating five years, to Lt. Denny Hughes, who marked his 30th year with theΒ Β
