Farmington Hills Man Among 18 Charged in Federal Court

The unsealed indictment alleges the defendants are part of a national drug trafficking organization.

A Farmington Hills man is among 18 defendants charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana, United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade announced today.

Carl Lee Jones, 30, is named in the indictment, which charges the defendants—all alleged to be members of a national drug trafficking organization—with conspiring to distribute cocaine and marijuana in Detroit over the past 11 years. The other defendants are:

  • Anthony Bernarde Edwards, 40, Southfield
  • Daryl Keith Sewell, 43, Arizona
  • Malcolm Martines Long, 38, Macomb Twp.
  • Isaac Johnson Sheppard, 30, Detroit
  • Geoffrey Lamar Hightower, 40, Wayne
  • Dennis Cornelius Tate, 36, Belleville
  • Kendrah Smartt, 46, Colorado
  • Terrence Lynn Pritchett, 40, Detroit
  • John Lighting III, 29, Detroit
  • Shaun Devon Askew, 28, Detroit
  • Johnny Richards, Jr., 43, Roseville
  • Jaami Townsend, 33, Plymouth
  • Denise Darrine Williamson, 42, Detroit
  • Erika Royce Flowers, 29, Detroit
  • Thebera Shlanda Flowers, 47, Detroit
  • Terrell Raynard Clark, 23, Detroit

The most serious charge in the indictment, conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of powder cocaine and more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana, carries a penalty of 10 years to life imprisonment.
