Farmington Resident Arrested After Police Chase On I-75

The chase began on I-75 near Monroe and Wayne counties Wednesday after police spotted the driver in a stolen car.

FARMINGTON, MI — A 36-year-old Farmington resident was arrested after leading police on a chase in stolen car before crashing, Michigan State Police said.

Police located the stolen car Wednesday morning on northbound I-75 near Monroe and Wayne counties, officials said.

Police tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver was driving recklessly, leading to a pursuit officials said.

The intoxicated driver then lost control and crashed after the short pursuit, officials said.

Police then took the driver to a local hospital for minor injuries, officials said.

The driver is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, operating while intoxicated, possession of narcotics and stolen vehicle, officials said.
