Farmington Schools Assistant Superintendent Up for Job in Clawson

Among the final four candidates for a superintendent position in Clawson Public Schools is assistant superintendent Catherine Cost, .Β
Currently the district's assistant superintendent of instructional services, Cost was also among the top contenders for similar positions and . She will be interviewed next week, along with Gerald Jennex of Capac Community Schools, Terrence Urquhart of Forest Hills Public Schools and Monique Beels of Grosse Pointe Public Schools.Β
Clawson school officials are looking to replaceΒ Β after five years of working in the district. Her retirement will be effective in June.

The board met Tuesday night in closed session to select the candidates out of a pool of 23 applicants. In February, theΒ Β to assist with the search process.Β
School Board President Kevin Turner said the board selected candidates based on the level of experience in the education system, familiarity with Michigan and Metro Detroit and recommendations from current and past employers.

"These were the candidates on the top of our list," Turner said.
Officials hope to have two or three top candidates after the interviews; they expect to make their final decision in May.Β
