Farmington Names Teacher of the Year

Farmington schools recognize Teacher of the Year

Doreen Swift, a 5TH grade teacher at Power Upper Elementary School, was named “Farmington Public Schools’ Upper Elementary Teacher of the Year” for Farmington Public Schools.

“It is with great pleasure to honor Doreen Swift as Outstanding Teacher of the Year,” said Dr. George Heitsch, Superintendent.

Adding to this honor, The Suburban Collection awarded Ms. Swift with a vehicle lease.

“Doreen Swift is an outstanding teacher and it is so important that she be recognized for her excellence and dedication,” said David Fischer, Jr., General Manager of The Suburban Collection. “We are delighted to provide her with a vehicle lease to express our thanks to her as being selected for this award.”

Ms. Swift has taught in Farmington Public Schools since 2007.

In addition to Farmington Public Schools, The Suburban Collection this year is awarding vehicle leases to “Teachers of the Year” in nine additional communities in Southeastern Michigan where they do business. These school systems include: Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Clarkston, Clinton, Ferndale, Novi, Sterling Heights/Utica, Troy and Waterford.
