First Michigan Bank Changes its Name

First Michigan Bank, which has branches in Farmington and Farmington Hills, has changed its name to Talmer Bank and Trust. 

Talmer Bank and Trust, a community-oriented depository institution, serves the financial needs of individuals and businesses in communities throughout the Midwest. 

The name Talmer is a derivation of the names of the grandfathers of the Bank’s founders, Gary Torgow and David Provost.  They were determined to continue the legacies of their grandfathers---one a missionary in Asia and the other a prominent lawyer and author who help the underprivileged.  These two remarkable humanitarians never met but shared a common purpose---enriching the lives of their communities.

Talmer Bank and Trust will continue to honor and process checks, wires, and other electronic transactions drawn on and made payable to First Michigan Bank. Talmer Bank customers may continue using their existing checks and ATM, debit, and credit cards.
