FOLEY & MANSFIELD ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP IN DETROIT OFFICE

The national law firm of Foley & Mansfield today announced that Howard I. Wallach has been named  Managing Partner of its Detroit and Grand Rapids, Michigan offices.

A partner with the Firm since 2006, Wallach has more than 30 years of commercial law and litigation experience, in addition to extensive family law experience. Outside of his legal practice, he serves as President of the Farmington, Michigan Board of Education and is an active member and past chair of the Michigan Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League.

Wallach succeeds partner Gary D. Sharp, who founded the Detroit office in 1995. During his 18 years as Managing Partner, Sharp expanded the Detroit office significantly, both in size – from 3 to 18 attorneys – and in profitability. The Firm’s Grand Rapids office was also opened in 2012 under Sharp’s leadership to accommodate growth in the health care, qui tam and employment practices. Nationally recognized for trial strategies and the defense of medical claims in the toxic tort arena, Sharp will remain Chair of the Firm’s Toxic Tort Group and split his time between the firm’s Michigan and Oakland, California offices.
