For Sale By Owner or Real Estate Agent?

The common concern when listing a home is whether or not to use an agent. Today I am going to give you the top 5 reasons to use an agent rather than sell your home yourself. 
1. Safety - When hiring a Real Estate Agent to list your home you can have the comfort of knowing that every person coming into your home will be accompanied by a licensed agent. You won't have to be home to allow a stranger in to view your property.
2. Marketing - Agents have better ways of marketing your home for you. They may have buyers already lined up in fact! Most agents have a plethora of websites and marketing materials they use to attract buyers faster than you would be able to on your own. Most agents are out there searching for homes for their buyers that are listed with Realtors...not for sale by owner so the possibility of your house being seen by that buyer who is working with a Realtor is slim.
3. Education - Realtors are constantly completing continuing education courses and attending seminars. They are the experts in your area! They will be able to talk to you about the market in your neighborhood and provide data on past sales which in turn will help them list your home at the right price. If you list your home too high you will deter buyers and you will have a hard time selling. If you list your property too low buyers may think there is something wrong with the property even if there isn't. The right price is one of the most important keys to selling your home quickly!
4. Negotiations - Your Real Estate Agent will negotiate any terms that are brought on your property. They will make sure you are getting the best deal out there! They know what should and should not happen in any transaction so they will protect your best interest. 
5. Paperwork/Legality - The last thing you want to add to your list when selling your home is dealing with all of the paperwork and making sure everything is legal! There are so many lawsuits out there involving Real Estate-don't take any chances on being involved with one. Your Realtor will cover all paperwork with you which will make the process so much easier!
