Fourth of July Trash Collection Schedule in Farmington Hills

Also, if you're new to recycling, here's a refresher course on what's allowed and what isn't.

There will be no change to the Farmington Hills garbage schedule due to the Independence Day holiday since the Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year.

Regular pickups will occur for all garbage, recycling, and yard waste Monday through Friday for the week before and the week after the Fourth of July holiday, the city said in a news release.

To ensure pickup, please have your garbage at the curbside by 7 a.m. In the interest of worker safety, containers must be limited to a 32-gallon and 60-pound capacity. Oversized containers will not be emptied.

Please place your recycling cart at least three feet apart from other garbage cans, mailboxes, parked cars, and trees. This enables drivers to use the efficient automated lift device and not have to exit the truck to manually pick up the recycling cart.

Remember to place your cart the correct way so the lift device can grab it; follow the directional arrows with the hinge toward your house. Please, no trash in the recycling bins, only recyclable items that are listed on the cart lid.
