Homeowner Interrupts Burglary, Fires on Suspect
The Farmington Hills police department has released a photo of the suspect's truck and is asking the public for information.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – A Farmington Hills homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress at his home in the 2800 block of Peppermill Street in the vicinity of 12 Mile Road and Farmington roads about 7:30 Tuesday evening and fired two shots at the intruder, police said.

The intruder fled the location, driving toward the homeowner, who holds a valid concealed pistol license, according to a news release from the Farmington Hills Police Department. After the homeowner fired on suspect’s pickup truck — a white full-sized regular cab pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram — it was seen driving east on 13 Mile Road through a red light at Orchard Lake Road, where it was involved in a traffic crash.

The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall and in his late 20s or 30s. He was wearing a tan Carhartt jacket with a hood.
